A Lil About Me...

Writer, Environmentalist, Woman

Born and raised in Colorado Springs, Colorado, I've always had a feeling of being in both the exactly right and totally wrong place all at the same time. Exactly right in the moments where I connected deeply with the natural world all around me in the ecosystems nestled at the base of the Front Range. Totally wrong in the moments where conservative ideals contradicted my deepest held values. I'm so glad to have grown up there, and I would also never wish to do it again.

The holding of multiple truths at one time is a crucial skill I've learned in order to make peace with life. This has been what has carried me through college. In short, at the risk of sounding cliche, it's being able to accept that it has been both the best of times and worst of times. It's allowing for multiple identities to come together into one, "fully formed," human being.

My writing showcases these multiple truths and identities through exploration of biological processes, mental health struggles, what it means to be a woman, and the nature of change.
